Haylee Ramirez (Hudson Catholic Class of 2019) and Kendralee Ramirez (Horace Mann Elementary School Class of 2021) know what it takes to be champions. On February 24, 2019, they both won a championship for their schools.
Haylee Ramirez led Hudson Catholic to their first ever County Championship in school history. She has been a major impact player for the varsity all four years. Kendralee Ramirez led Horace Mann to an undefeated season and led the team with 24 points in the championship game.
In the county championship, Haylee led the team with 14 points. She has also set the scoring record for most points in school history at Hudson Catholic. She has verbally committed to continue her athletic and academic career at Felician University. Felician first showed interest in Haylee when she was in middle school, having seen her participate in her AAU. Haylee had numerous college interest because of her work ethic, long range shot, and her ability to take it to the rim. Haylee began AAU playing for the NJ Freedom and North Jersey Blast. She later played for the NJ Shoreshots, NYC Exodus, and again the North Jersey Blast. There is never a moment she is not in the gym. Whether she is putting up shots, lifting weights, or running, Haylee is constantly working to fine tune her game.
Kendralee followed in her older sister’s footsteps. At an early age she attended Haylee’s games and would try shooting at the ten foot rim during half time. She would stand dribbling on the sideline and was eager to get out and start playing on a team of her own. She is a good ball handler who can use her cross-over to get to the basket. She has played for the Jersey City Lady Celtics, New Heights, and the North Jersey Blast. She works on her game outside and improves her strength and conditioning by running, doing box jumps, and pull ups.
Both Ramirez sisters have played for the All Stars in North Bergen and Horace Mann Middle School, bringing home championships for their town. They are scoring leaders and vocal leaders every time they compete.
