Saddle River Day Defeats The Patrick School

Jordan Janowski from Saddle River Day

To close out the Basketball Needs New Jersey Showcase Saddle River Day defeated The Patrick School, 81-76, in overtime. The tournament was hosted by Kennedy High School (Paterson) and was presented by TheDribbleDrop.

The Patrick School came out in a face guard against Michelle Sidor while pressuring the ball as much as possible. This strategy worked at first, but Jordan Janowski stepped up her game. Janowski was on every loose ball, she was boxing out and fighting for rebounds, and went hard to the basket. She had 12 points, all of which were hard earned.

The Patrick School’s Laeshae Dwyer has awesome athleticism, can creatively attack the basket, and can do up and unders in the air to score and draw fouls. She did a great job and kept the crowd cheering. Aliyah Williams is another great player for TPS. She is good at moving the ball, playing defense, and hitting shots. Asonah Alexander made some major plays for TPS in the fourth quarter when they ultimately out-scored SRD, 24-13, to force the overtime.

Michelle Sidor played a major second half and owned the court during the overtime. She finished with 42 points. Sidor becomes energized when the game is more competitive and plays at the top of her game.

Jenna Jordan finished with 14 points and scored her 1,000th career point. Jordan plays a major role for SRD in the paint. She is deadly from the short corner and works hard to box out.
