Bishop Ahr Defeats Morris Catholic

Kelsey Ransom leading a fast break.

Bishop Ahr defeated Morris Catholic, 52-43, in high school girls’ basketball. Bishop Ahr and Morris Catholic faced off in the Basketball Needs New Jersey showcase hosted by Kennedy High School (Paterson, NJ) and presented by TheDribbleDrop.

Bishop Ahr’s Kelsey Ransom is the most influential player on the court at all times. Her finishing with 12 points is not a good indicator of how important she was to the game. She plays outstanding help defense, she is very fast, and can leap high. Ransom knows how to get aggressive in the post, but can also go out and play the guards.

Morris Catholic tried a number of times to get the ball in the paint to Emma Duerr, but the Bishop Ahr help defense made that very difficult. Regardless, Duerr still finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Bishop Ahr’s point guard Madison Ruddy finished with 13 points and Megan Herka, who plays small forward, added 11.
