Holy Angels Had Two Great Games This Week

Holy Angels and Paramus tipping off.

Holy Angels defeated Paramus, 55-17, on February 6, 2018 in high school girls’ basketball.

Paramus, led by junior center Ore Agoro, went on a 6-0 run to start the game.

Agoro plays center for Paramus, but is versatile. She can shoot from the outside and can also lead the team on transition. She is good at getting out to the perimeter for defense, but can also clear the paint and pull down rebounds.

Holy Angels recovered quickly and shut down Paramus for the remainder of the first quarter. They led 20-6 into the second quarter. Scoring was relatively even for Holy Angels as they worked the ball around to open teammates and played deep into their bench.

At the half-time Holy Angels led 33-12.

On February 8, 2018 Holy Angels hosted Immaculate Heart Academy (IHA) and fell 48-44.

Angels led at the end of the first quarter 12-10. At the half-time IHA had earned the lead 25-13. Elena Pulanco had three shots from outside the arch for a total of 18 points. She also got inside for 7 rebounds. IHA’s Anna Morris had 15 points and did a good job of drawing fouls. Brittany Graff followed her with 10 points.
