Immaculate Conception (Lodi) defeated Bishop Loughlin, 50-29, at the Rose Classic Super Jam. The tournament was held at Nazareth High School in Brooklyn, NJ, over the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend (January 13-15, 2018).
The top three highest scorers from IC were presented with plaques. Jariah Patterson was awarded the Most Valuable Player award and she finished with 18 points. She also had 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 blocked shot. Patterson is a great shooter who can hit from anywhere.
Eleanor Robinson won the Sportsmanship Award and had 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 steal. Robinson is a freshman who is versatile. She can play both inside and outside.
Jordan McLemore won the Scholar Athlete Award and finished with 6 points, 6 assists 2 rebounds, and 3 steals. McLemore is a point guard who will be playing next year for Hartford. She is very fast on defense and offense.
At the half-time IC led 25-16.
Bishop Loughlin’s Phinette Edwards is a pass first score second point guard. She looks to get all of her teammates involved and is vocal on the court. She can attack and dish, but can also draw fouls. Stephane McBride is a 6’1″ center who can also shoot from the outside. Her tall build makes her a good shot blocker and rebounder.
