Jada Camacho Leads Dickinson High School to Victory Over Union City High School

Dickinson High School defeated Union City High School, 59-55, in high school girls’ basketball. The game came down to the wire, both teams matching each other point for point in the fourth quarter.

Dickinson’s Jada Camacho led the team with 23 points, but could have easily finished with 40. Despite being the team’s best shooter, Camacho is constantly looking for open teammates to dish the ball. She will work to get into the center of the paint to dump the ball into the block or to skip it outside the three-point line. She is good at attacking the basket and finishing, but also has a nice outside shot. Of her 23 points, three of which came from the three-point line.

Dickinson’s Adiva Woods is good at drawing fouls. She finished with 13 points. Emily Ruiz added 11, and nine of those points came from the three-point line.

At the half-time Dickinson led 36 to 26. Union City had a great third quarter and out-scored Dickinson 13-4. They trailed only by 1 point to enter the fourth quarter. Union City’s Brianna Tapia was deadly from the three-point line. She was 4 for 5 from the arch and finished with 18 points.

Starting 5’11” senior center Michelle Baeza added 14 points for Union City.
