The regular season is finally in the books for the Shore Conference. Here is a quick roundup of all of Saturday’s games.
Manasquan 60, St Rose 57
Manasquan (22-1) locked down the No 1 seed in the Shore Conference with a win over St Rose (20-3).
Dara Mabrey scored 19 of her 29 points in the first half, including a tying three that sent the game into overtime, and a final layup at the buzzer. Faith Masonius poured in 11 points and 4 rebounds. Stella Clark added 9 points and 6 boards.
Ellyn Stoll and Lucy Thomas finished with 14 points each for St Rose. Thomas went over 1,000 points for her career in the first quarter.
St John Vianney 59, Long Island Lutheran 52
St John Vianney (19-3) got their biggest win of the year on the road at Long Island Lutheran. One thing you can say about the Lancers is that they don’t do anything the easy way! After beating Rumson on Friday, they turned around and took down a very strong LuHi squad!
Maddie Doring hit 3 three pointers and finished with a team high 13 points. Kimi Evans and Sarah Karpell added 11 points each. Julia Ramos and Sajada Bonner poured in 7 points apiece in the win.
Ocean City 44, Middletown South 30
Ocean City (19-0) kept their unbeaten streak alive by defeating Middletown South (13-7).
The Red Raiders were led by Danielle Donoghue with 13 points. Grace Sacco added 11 points, and Alexis Paone chipped in with 9.
Alexandra Balsamo scored 11 points for Middletown South. Isla Brennan and Sam Keenan recorded 6 points each.
Holy Spirit 37, Toms River North 33
Holy Spirit used an 18-3 third quarter to gain momentum in a victory over Toms River North (20-2). It was just the second loss of the season for the Mariners.
Ciani Redd-Howard led Holy Spirit with 13 points. Savanna Holt added 9 points, and Ayanna Jones chipped in with 9.
Ashley Tutzauer had 11 points for Toms River North. Jenna Paul finished with 9 points, and Amanda Johnson supplied 6.
Neptune 44, Trenton Catholic 33
Neptune (20-2) beat Trenton Catholic in non-conference action.
Desiree Allen led the Fliers with 20 points. Makayla Andrews scored 6 of her 10 points from the free throw line. Alexis Bennett added 5 points.
Marlboro 54, East Brunswick 39
Marlboro (12-10) picked up a non-conference win over East Brunswick (11-9). The Mustangs used a 16-1 run in the second quarter to take control of the game.
Molly Weiss had a huge shooting night with 5 three pointers. Weiss led the team with 19 points. Jessica Broad added 13 points, and Gisella Romeo finished with 10.
Middle Twp 43, Southern 35
Middle Twp (16-2) defeated Southern at the War vs The Shore Showcase from Mainland High School. The Panthers are looking at a top seed in this week’s Cape Atlantic League tournament.
Jenna Herlihy led Middle with a game high 16 points. Bridget Ruskey had a solid day with 13 points. Allison Hunter chipped in with 6 points.
Jacqueline Ward led Southern with 13 points, a steal, and a block. Colleen Brady added 9 points and 4 rebounds. Lauren Cruse scored 6 of her 8 points from the free throw line.
Manchester 49, Atlantic Tech 29
Manchester (17-3) ripped off their 14th straight by defeating Atlantic Tech.
The Hawks put four players in double figures. Khamiya Spence finished with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kemari Reynolds, Serenity Anderson, and Dakota Adams all poured in 11 points apiece.
Donovan Catholic 55, Cedar Creek 42
Donovan Catholic (15-5) picked up a non-conference win over Cedar Creek.
Alyssa Hirschy was on fire from behind the arc. Hirschy nailed 4 three pointers and finished with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Paige Slaven supplied 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists. Karolina Jaruseviciute added 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals. Molly Collins recorded 9 points and 5 assists.
Wildwood Catholic 47, Toms River South 44
Toms River South (13-7) fell to Wildwood Catholic in a hard fought battle.
Ashley Jackson led Wildwood Catholic with 16 points. Briel Herbert added 13 points, and Cailtin McMullan chipped in with 11.
Emily Donzanti scored a game high 17 points for Toms River South. Donzanti also grabbed 5 boards and dished out 3 assists. Octavia Garland scored 12 points, and Hannah Wagner added 7.
Trinity Hall 67, Pt Pleasant Beach 42
Trinity Hall (16-4) closed out the B Central schedule with a win over Pt Pleasant Beach (10-8).
Bridget Andree poured in 27 points, 15 rebounds, 6 steals, and 6 assists to lead the Monarchs. Colleen Cusat also posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Kathryn Kwapniewski added 8 points in the win.
McKayla Hughes led Pt Beach with a game high 18 points.
Pinelands 32, Egg Harbor 29
Pinelands (9-13) defeated Egg Harbor (7-12) in a non-conference game.
Ellie Sorrentino led the Wildcats with 10 points. Alexis Capriotti also contributed with 8 points in the win.
Keyport 42, Henry Hudson 25
Keyport (13-7) finished the B Central schedule with a victory over Henry Hudson (6-16).
Giana Piccini scored 17 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and came up with a steal. Shannan Devlin added 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Brea Creastrom led Henry Hudson with 11 points.
