Fri Roundup – Donovan Catholic And Manchester Share B South Title

It was the final night with a full schedule in the Shore Conference. Conference play will officially wrap up on Saturday. The SCT seeds will be decided on Sunday and we’ll be ready to roll for some great tournament action.

Here Is A Quick Roundup Of Friday’s Games

Fri 2/10

Trinity Hall 60, Keansburg 26

Trinity Hall (15-4) wrapped up second place in B Central with a victory over Keansburg (4-17). The Monarchs opened up with a 26-17 halftime lead and cruised the rest of the way.

Bridget Andree scored 21 points and connected 5 times from the free throw line. Catherine Loder hit two three pointers and finished with 12 points. Nicole Ventura added 8 points, and Kathryn Kwapniewski chipped in with 5.

Anu Badru and Alison Florenzo scored 7 points each for Keansburg in the loss.

Keyport 46, Asbury Park 28

Keyport (12-7) defeated Asbury Park (6-13) in B Central. The Red Raiders began the game on a 20-3 run and never looked back.

Sophomore Giana Piccini nailed two three pointers and led the team with 19 points. Piccini also grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 2 assists. Hannah Thomson contributed with 7 points, and Alexis Breen added 5.

Krystina Barnes led Asbury Park with 13 points.

St Rose 75, Ranney 12

St Rose (20-2) took home another B Central title with a convincing victory over Ranney (4-17). The Roses were warming up for their battle with Manasquan tomorrow.

Lucy Thomas and Ellyn Stoll scored 12 points each. Ariana Dalia poured in 9 points off the bench, and Mikayla Markham contributed with 8.

Lilly Blumenkrantz scored 7 of Ranney’s 12 points.

Red Bank Catholic 68, Long Branch 26

It looks like RBC has more than likely put their stamp on the No 3 seed in the SCT. The Caseys (19-2) ran past Long Branch (6-14) and have defeated everyone in B North except for Manasquan.

Tia Montagne hit 3 three pointers and scored 13 points. Katie Rice also got into double figures with 10 points. Hayley Moore supplied 9 points which all came on three pointers. Rose Caverly added 7 points, and Josie Larkins chipped in with 6.

Angelique Gathers led Long Branch with 8 points and 6 rebounds.

Manasquan 56, Monmouth 28

Manasquan (21-1) has won the B North title with a victory over Monmouth (7-13). The Warriors ran the table in the division!

Dara Mabrey led the way with 15 points. Faith Masonius poured in 10 points. Lola Mullaney and Annie Mako provided 6 points each.

Precious Allah led Monmouth with 14 points.

Barnegat 41, Jackson Liberty 36

Barnegat (14-8) closed out the regular season with a win over Jackson Liberty (5-16) in B South. The Bengals have set a school record for wins and will qualify for the SCT for the first time ever!

Senior Ashley Toner had a big performance, scoring 19 points, delivering 4 assists, and ripping off 3 steals. Shannon McCoy posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Kristina Donza scored 13 points for Jackson Liberty, and Lauren Bungay added 8.

Manchester 52, Pinelands 30

Manchester (16-3) earned a share of the B South championship. Tonight, they defeated Pinelands (8-13) to finish the regular season. The Hawks are co-champions along with Donovan Catholic.

Freshman sensation Kemari Reynolds and Khamiya Spence led the way with 12 points each. Dakota Adams poured in 9 points and 6 rebounds. Serenity Anderson chipped in with 6 points.

Ellie Sorrentino led Pinelands with 8 points, and Madison Dancisin added 5.

Middletown South 57, Ocean Twp 20

Middletown South (13-6) rolled past Ocean Twp (2-18) in B North.

Haley Dalonzo was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 17 points. Alexandra Balsamo recorded 16 points. Eve Pirie and Kayla Richardson contributed with 7 points each.

Morgan Bartlett led Ocean with 9 points.

Shore 51, Raritan 42

Shore (6-15) edged Raritan (6-15) in their final game in A Central.

The Blue Devils put three players in double figures. Guard Allie Reiser went 4/4 from the free throw line and finished with 13 points. Jaclyn Shapiro added 12 points, and Breanna Jackson contributed with 11.

Katrina Wojtowicz led Raritan with 18 points, and Lauren Christ supplied 9 in the loss.

Holmdel 49, Red Bank Regional 41

Holmdel (13-8) evened the season series with Red Bank Regional (14-8) in A Central. The Hornets outscored the Bucs 26-18 in the second half.

Christina Antonakakis has been on a tear for Holmdel. Tonight, she put on a show with 21 points. Antonakakis converted 12 times from the foul line. Sydney Coffaro added 11 points, and Marilou Quintana contributed with 6.

Grace Dengler led RBR with 12 points, and Noelle Haplin added 10.

Neptune 53, Colts Neck 45

Neptune (19-2) used a 15 point fourth quarter to pull out a win over Colts Neck (10-10). The Fliers take home the A North title by running through the division unblemished.

Desiree Allen went off for a game high 31 points. Allen hit 13 free throws in the game. Alexis Bennett and Brianna Love chipped in with 7 points each.

Sam Roth scored 18 points for Colts Neck, and Jaime Prestigiacomo added 10.

Howell 54, Freehold Boro 33

Howell (14-7) finished the regular season with a win over Freehold Boro (8-13) in A North. The Rebels jumped out to a 29-11 lead at the half.

Jess O’Brien hit 3 three pointers and finished with 15 points. Rachel Gazzola also got into double figures with 13 points. Liz Capestro nailed a three pointer and poured in 12 points.

Southern 45, Toms River South 33

Southern (13-9) won the second meeting over Toms River South (13-6). Both teams will qualify for the SCT and learn their seeds on Sunday.

Lauren Cruse finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Cruse hit 3 three pointers in the game. Shauna McHale was a force in the paint, scoring 10 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and blocking 2 shots.

Emily Donzanti led Toms River South with 11 points, and Shiloh Williams added 10.

Donovan Catholic 49, Pt Pleasant Boro 41

After trailing 20-19 at the half, Donovan Catholic (14-5) used a 19-7 run in the third to propel their way to a win over Pt Pleasant Boro (14-8). The Griffins will share the B South title with Manchester. This is the 4th consecutive division title for Jerry Bruno’s squad.

Melissa Buxton had a fantastic night, posting a double-double with a team high 21 points and 15 rebounds. Buxton also nailed 4 three pointers. Molly Collins added 11 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Alyssa Hirschy supplied 7 points, and Karolina Jaruseviciute contributed with 6.

Ally Lassen led Pt Boro with 23 points, 16 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Kate Leturgez, Jamie Morris, and Riley Sexton all added 5 points in the loss. The Panthers were still playing without senior star Megan Hughes.

St John Vianney 50, Rumson Fair Haven 38

St John Vianney secured the A Central title after a second win over Rumson Fair Haven. The Lancers only led 27-26 at the half, but used an 19 point fourth quarter to close out the game.

Kimi Evans led St John Vianney with 20 points. Sajada Bonner poured in 11 points. Courtney Dobrzynski recorded 7 points. Julia Ramos and Sarah Karpell added 6 points each in the win.

Hannah Scanlan led Rumson Fair Haven with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Tori Hyduke added 13 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
