Howell 41, Marlboro 25
Lauren Kocsis’ 11 points led a balanced scoring night for Howell in an upset win over Marlboro. Jessica O’Brien had 8, while Liz Capestro and Rachel Gazzola each scored 7.
Marlboro lost the second half 28-12.
Red Bank Regional 50, Henry Hudson 7
Holding Henry Hudson scoreless in the first and fourth quarters, RBR rolled to another Shore Conference win behind their defense.
No 1 St Rose 82, Asbury Park 17
Saint Rose has yet to be tested this season, as their latest win against Asbury Park was sparked by a game high 13 points from Jen Louro, who also grabbed 8 rebounds.
No 6 Middletown South 70, Monmouth 26
Neptune 61, Freehold Boro 22
Senior Desiree Allen posted a double-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots as Neptune cruised to a 61-22 win over Freehold Boro in A North. Taylor Gardner finished with 12 points, and Freshman Makayla Andrews added 8. Sydney Przygoda led Freehold Boro with 6 points.
No 8 Donovan Catholic 51, Barnegat 35
The impressive Donovan Catholic Griffins got 17 points from Molly Collins in this win over Barnegat. Shannon McCoy led the Bengals with 14, and Ashley Toner added 12.
Alyssa Hirschy and Paige Slaven each scored 10 for DC.
No 2 Manasquan 69, Long Branch 35
Dara Mabrey turned in another strong performance with 19 points as No 2 Manasquan easily handled Long Branch 69-35. Mabrey hit 3 three pointers in the game. Senior Nikki Stevens poured in 10 points off the bench. Faith Masonius, Victoria Galvan, and Lola Mullaney all chipped in with 6 points each. Quayniece Page led Long Branch with 19 points.
Colts Neck 48, Manalapan 42
Cara Volpe did everything for Colts Neck in a hard-fought win, scoring 13 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Jaime Prestigiacomo also had 15 points in the victory over a Manalapan team that got 13 from Kerry Tanke.
Pinelands 59, Lakewood 18
As a team, Pinelands shot the bal exceptionally well in a win over Lakewood – who has struggled to score all season long. Ellie Sorrentino was the Wildcats leading scorer with 13 points.
Pt Pleasant Beach 46, Keyport 42
The Gulls put three players in double figures in a 46-42 win over the Red Raiders in B Central. Cameron Barnes and Cadyn Dering scored 13 points each. McKayla Hughes also added 11 points. Giana Piccini led Keyport with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Shannan Devlin poured in 11 points and pulled down 8 boards in the loss.
Lacey Twp 41, Jackson Liberty 37
Lacey picked up their first win of the year, outlasting Jackson Liberty 41-37. Karlie Kuhn was the leading scorer for the Lions with 18 points. Kristina Donza finished with 16 points for Jackson Liberty. Lauren Bungay also got into double figures with 12.
Matawan 42, Shore 40
Briyanah Richardson scored 12 points as Matawan defeated Shore 42-40 in A Central. Khoryn Bannis added 9 points and Aniyah Moore finished with 8. Jaclyn Shapiro was the leading scorer for Shore with 13 points. Allie Reiser also got into double figures with 10.
Central 41, Southern 36
Ashley Dellapietro’s 15 points paired with 14 from Rachel Rice put Central past Southern in a tight game. Leading by 6 at the half, Central held on for the win despite 15 points from Colleen Brady of Southern.
Toms River South 52, Jackson Memorial 47
Emily Donzanti scored 12 of her team high 19 points in the second half as Toms River South picked up a tough A South win over Jackson Memorial. Center Maria Gregorio also added another 12 points and 8 rebounds. Sophomore Dani Evans led Jackson Memorial with 19 points. Evans nailed four three pointers in the game.
No 10 Toms River North 48, Toms River East 27
Sophomore Jenna Paul has been on a tear for Toms River North. She stole the show again last night at the Pine Belt Arena, supplying 20 points and converting three times from behind the arc in a 48-27 win over Toms River East in A South. Ashley Tutzauer also had a stellar night with 18 points. Sydney Schuler led Toms River East with 7 points, and Sydney Phibbs added 6 points and 4 rebounds.
Manchester 41, No 9 Pt Pleasant Boro 36
Kemari Reynolds scored 18 points to lead Manchester to a 41-36 win over Pt Pleasant Boro in B South. The Hawks were able to bounce back after losing a tough game to Donovan Catholic on Monday night. Ally Lassen led Pt Pleasant Boro with 21 points.
No 4 Red Bank Catholic 77, Wall Twp 42
