The first quarter was close with Clifton leading at the end, 11-6. Clifton’s Jordan Rivera is a strong must-see guard. She is a tall, strong, lefty who has a lot of talent. Rivera can hit a three point shot even with a defender on her. She can cross-over quickly to get past defenders and inside the paint. She is good at anticipating rebounds and can go inside to score. Rivera was also a major asset on the press by tipping the ball and earning steals. This tremendous all around effort helped Clifton keep the lead going into the half, 25-10.

Passaic’s Estefany Mendoza is a quick guard who plays good pressure defense. She can also pop a three-point shot. Carmen Escano is tough in the paint. She can rebound and put back shots.

Clifton led at the end of the third quarter 42-18. Clifton’s Shand Badeer and Stephanie Arroyo were big contributors in the paint. They box out, get rebounds, and can draw fouls.

Clifton now starts the regular season with plenty of momentum moving forward.
