In a game where CBA Colts ace Luca Dalatri needed over 100 pitches to seal the game; the Colts return to the SCT finals for the third straight year. Kenny Campbell was able to come up with a big 3 RBI triple against RBC starter Justin Liggett to give the Colts a 3-0 lead in the 4th inning. This hit propelled the Colts offense tonight.
RBC continued to fight all evening long. Right after the Colts took a 3-0 lead, Evan Madigan hit an RBI single in the 5th inning to cut the Colts lead to 3-1. However, CBA would come up two more runs to extend the lead to 5-1 in the 6th inning.
Luca Dalatri appeared to experience some fatigue in the 7th inning. Mike Spinelli would single to right, and Pat Leonard would walk eventually setting up a bases loaded situation. Evan Madigan once again stepped up for RBC as he ripped a 2 RBI single to cut the Colt lead to 5-3. Luca Dalatri would bend but not break as he forced Doug Facendo to ground out which closed out the CBA win. The Colts will now play Middletown South for the right to call themselves champions of the Shore Conference for the third straight year.
