We’re getting down to the last few weeks in the Shore Conference Girls Basketball season. This is the time when teams will make their best impression before the SCT seeding meeting takes place.
Two big games in Class A South highlight Monday’s schedule as Sam Bialoblocki leads Brick Memorial into Southern to take on Bianca Nicolini and the Rams. Toms River South also heads into the Pine Belt Arena to square off against cross-town rival Toms River North.
Middletown North 67, Manalapan 55
Hailee Hallard had a phenomenal performance by exploding for a career high 31 points as Middletown North defeated Manalapan 67-55 in Class A North. Hallard was also on fire from being the three point line. She was dynamite from downtown 5 times. Julia Ferrari also had a solid game with 15 points. Kiera Williams also chipped in with 8 points. The Lions took a 50-41 lead at the end of the third quarter and never looked back. Brianna Waring led Manalapan with 10 points. Ariella Kaplan, Erin Rotondo, and Kerry Tanke all scored 9 points each.
No 2 St Rose 80, Henry Hudson 21
Jen Louro had a strong afternoon with 15 points and 9 rebounds as St Rose cruised to a victory over Henry Hudson in Class B Central. Ellyn Stoll also added 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Loving Marsicano chipped in with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Ariana Dalia chipped in with 9 points off the bench. Sophomore Lucy Thomas recorded 6 points and 12 boards. Kamryn Hubeny led Henry Hudson with 12 points. Hubeny scored all of the 12 on three point shots!
Ranney at Asbury Park – 4PM
Monmouth 38, Trinity Hall 30
Halena Martin scored a game high 14 points as Monmouth defeated Trinity Hall 38-30 in non-conference action. Monmouth held on after Trinity Hall went on a 12-7 run in the fourth. Ashley Rust and Jada Bing both added 9 points. Bridget Andree led Trinity Hall with 10 points. Gillian Thorp also scored 8 points.
No 8 Colts Neck 64, Long Branch 58
Freshman Lola Mullaney had another big game with 17 points as Colts Neck defeated Long Branch 64-58 in Class B North. Jaime Prestigiacomo provided a spark off the bench by netting 15 points. Cara Volpe was also a force in the paint by pouring in 11 points. The Cougars are now 10-5 on the season.
Mater Dei Prep 43, Keansburg 35
Mater Dei Prep picked up a 43-35 win over Keansburg in Class B Central. The Seraphs are currently hanging on to second place in the division. Maria Wise led the way with 12 points, 5 steals, and 2 assists. Jill Williams added 11 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 3 blocks. Maggie Klatt also chipped in with 9 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal. The Seraphs dominated in the second half by outscoring the Titans 25-13. Stephanie Walters led Keansburg with 11 points. Anu Badru and Alison Florenzo both scored 8 points each.
Red Bank Regional at Ocean – 515PM
Central 47, Lakewood 28
Central got their 6th win of the season over Lakewood in Class B South. Alexis Monguso was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 8 points. Alexis Holloway also added another 7 points. Shannon Adler contributed with 6 points. Ashley DellaPietro, Kristi Truhan, and Sam Wilber all recorded 5 points each. Shana Rayside led Lakewood with 8 points.
Jackson Memorial 30, Lacey 16
Daria Jones scored a game high 16 points and nailed 2 three pointers as Jackson Memorial beat Lacey in Class A South action. Allison Warner poured in another 11 points and 9 rebounds to help pace the offense. The Jaguars totaled 36 rebounds and 11 steals as a team in the win.
Pt Boro 52, Jackson Liberty 39
Ally Lassen poured in 17 points to lead Pt Boro in a 52-39 win over Jackson Liberty in Class B South. Megan Hughes added 16 points. Amy Bergquist contributed with 11 points. Maeve Carney led Jackson Liberty with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Bailey Keenan recorded 10 points and 6 assists. Lauren Bungay also netted 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Donovan Catholic 50, Barnegat 42
Katie Borghesi had a strong game for Donovan Catholic with 14 points as Donovan Catholic picked up a 50-42 win over Barnegat in Class B South. Molly Collins and Alissa Hirschy both contributed with 7 points each. Melissa Buxton and Jessica Poplawski both poured in 6 points. Dana Lozito led Barnegat with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Shannon McCoy had 9 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals.
No 9 Southern 54, Brick Memorial 33
The Southern Rams bounced back with a statement win over Brick Memorial in Class A South. Bianca Nicolini led the Rams by scoring 14 points, grabbing 2 rebounds, ripping off 3 steals, and dishing out 4 assists. The Rams are always in good shape when Nicolini is having a solid night. Shauna McHale gave Southern a boost off the bench with 12 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist. Sophomore Colleen Brady finished with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block. Morgan Henderson also helped fuel the offense with 9 points, 3 rebounds, 4 steals, and an assist. Samanatha Bialoblocki led Brick Memorial with 11 points. Cassandra Ball and Emily Dominguez both scored 9 points each.
Toms River East 52, Brick 18
Freshman Kamryn Lister was a real force in the paint, finishing with a season high 15 points as Toms River East picked up a win over Brick in Class A South. Sydney Schuler also turned in another strong performance with 13 points. Kaitlin Lister added another 8 points. The Raiders opened the game on a 25-3 run and held the Dragons scoreless in the second quarter. Kaeleigh Samms led Brick with 8 points.
Toms River North 54, Toms River South 51
The Mariners swept the season series with the Indians by picking up a 54-51 win in Class A South. Freshman Brielle Bisogno scored a game high 19 points to lead Toms River North. Jenna Paul also had another dominating night with 16 points. Junior Ashley Tutzauer also got into double figures with 10 points. The Mariners used a 33-18 run through the second and third quarter to build a 41-33 lead. They never surrendered the advantage from that point on. Maria Gregorio led Toms River South with 15 points. Emily Donzanti added 11 points. Nina Shirey also chipped in with 9 points.
