This past weekend left a lot of snow on the ground across the Shore Conference. Several games had been moved for the week, but we still had a lot to look forward to on Tuesday. St John Vianney and Rumson Fair Haven squared off to highlight the schedule!
No 1 St John Vianney 55, No 3 Rumson Fair Haven 40
Smart play and tremendous defense by St John Vianney helped snap the 8 game winning streak of Rumson Fair Haven. The Lancers executed full court pressure in a major way to keep the Bulldogs on their heels. Turnovers were a problem for the entire night which resulted in several SJV runs, especially in the second half.
Senior Tina LeBron fueled the offense with a very accurate shooting night. LeBron shot 5/6 from the field, and netted a game high 15 points which were all from the three point line.
Two of the three pointers in the second half were significant as Rumson had cut the deficit to 37-32, and later 48-37. Both times it was LeBron who would use the three as a dagger to steal all the momentum away. The Lancers closed an 11-5 fourth quarter to secure the win.
