Well, it was a local rivalry that put the Warriors in a position to advance to their first sectional semifinal since 2008. On Saturday, Manasquan defeated Point Boro to achieve that honor. The game will take place on Tuesday as the 6th seeded Warriors will look to advance to the Sectional Finals against the winner of Sterling vs Delran.
It all started when Manasquan was able to take a 1-0 lead on a Beau Bradley goal. This was able to hold up until Point Boro scored on one of the strangest goals of the season up until now. This goal occurred in the ninth minute of the game and set the tone early. It showed that even though Manasquan was down a striker and key goal scorer, they would not be taken lightly.
Later in the game, it was Arron Kocienski who was able to come up with the winning Goal. This goal was a bullet that was hit in the upper left corner of the net that was able to sail in. From there it was all about the defense as Manasquan was able to Preserve a 2-1 lead.
Although Point Boro led this game in shots, it was the Manasquan offense that was able to efficiently get on the board when it was most needed to propel them on to the next round.
