Katie Borghesi, the rising Donovan Catholic Senior has announced that she will be continuing her basketball career at Georgian Court University. She has been one of the go to players for Donovan Catholic and will continue to be a huge asset for the Griffins as they attempt to win another B-South title this upcoming season.
Borghesi said she chose GCU because of its close proximity to her home. She also said that it was a combination between the Campus and the coaches that made her decision very easy. ” I really wanted to stay home, I love the campus, and the coaches are amazing”, Borghesi stated.
Katie is hoping that her final year at Donovan Catholic will be one to remember before she leaves for college. Last season, the Griffins were one of the most competitive teams in B South. In fact, they won the division two years in the row with the help of Borghesi, and a few other talents that have come out of Donovan Catholic.
” I am really excited for my senior year. We are really looking to shock some people,” added Borghesi. There is no reason to believe that her talents along with the likes of Molly Collins won’t be able to propel the Griffins to a third straight division title. Perhaps, this year they will even excel from there.
After this year, Katie Borghesi will call Georgian Court home. The Lions will definitely find a role for her skill set. She is a great shooter who really brings a high level of energy to the floor. This is a huge steal for the Lions! For years now, they have been committed to finding local talent. Borghesi is certainly the epitome of that!!
