Southern Regional Junior Quarterback Sam Cammarata is the NJSR Outstanding Player for Week 4. Cammarata put on quite a show, coming off the bench and leading the Rams to a 21-14 victory in Howell. Cammarata finished 4 of 6 passing for 102 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Rams trailed Howell 6-0 before Cammarata came into the game at the half. Sam wasted no time getting the offense down the field, finding Junior Tight End Jesse Amir for a 6 yard score. This immediately gave the Rams momentum after being held without any points for ten straight quarters.

Southern was able to tie the game on a 58 yard strike from Cammarata to Senior Wide Receiver Nick Simonelli. The Rams had been trying to get their wide receivers going, and Simonelli stepped up to the challenge.

Cammarata would eventually lead a 13 play, 90 yard drive to win the game. With 12 seconds to go, the Junior once again found Simonelli for a 17 yard touchdown. Kyle McDonnell booted the extra point, and the Rams went home with their second victory of the season.

This was a huge win for Southern, improving their record to 2-3 overall. The Rams are now back in the playoff hunt with 36 overall powerpoints. Right now Southern is 6th in South Jersey Group V.

Southern has games coming up against Toms River South, Toms River North, and Lacey. There is still a lot of football to be played!
