Porter had a triple in the team’s season-ending win over Don Bosco Prep. Normally batting leadoff, he was the sparkplug at the top of the lineup that allowed Dalatri and Martorano to bat with men on base.

They both homered against Bosco as well. All three players will return to the Colts in 2015, looking to make one final run before splitting off and taking their talents to the next level.

CUA finished at 27-16-1 last season, good for fourth in the Landmark Conference.

When speaking with Porter, he expressed how excited he was to be a CUA recruit.  It’s a great team that is well coached. Both Coach Natoli and Coach Picardo know very well what they are doing. They are a DIII program that has won the Landmark league 4 out of 8 years of its existence.”

Porter also explained the recruitment process to us saying, “I was actually out in Rode Island for a showcase for URI when my coach, Greg Welsh, gave me a call saying CUA had heard of me from other coaches and was interested and would like to know the next time I would be playing. So I gave them a schedule of my summer tournaments and they had seen me play at Richmond for the first time. Coach Picardo also heard of me easily because he had been an assistant coach at MiddleTown South for a little bit, so he had heard from other coaches he knew around the area.”

Cid is very excited for his future in baseball. As mentioned, he was a valuable member for the Colts as they made their run to the Non-Public A title last season.” It’s really great how things have fallen into place for me. First winning a great state championship for CBA and now being able to go and play for a great team in the future”.

Cid is a great Center fielder, a position that he is most comfortable with and will continue to play in College. “This year they are graduating two senior outfielders so immediately they were looking for outfielders and I have been given the understanding that I will start center field, Porter explained”

He will certainly be huge component this season. He will be  returning as a senior member of this CBA team looking to make a deep playoff run once again
