There are lots of great games on the schedule this afternoon in the Shore Conference. Make sure you follow NJSR for all of the updates, and recaps of today’s action!

Sat 9/12- Score Board update by Ryan Wydra and Jim Rosa 

Howell 20 At Colts Neck 13 – 12PM

Howell was able to sneak by Colts neck Saturday afternoon. Senior quarterback Mark Iacobino threw a handful of touchdown passes throughout the game. He threw touchdown passes to Nick Chianca, Mike Reilly, and Dan Cacciatore. The last TD pass came late in the fourth quarter which proved to be the winning score. Their defense was able to hold Colts neck to 13 points. Max Mullaney was a big contributor to Colts neck’s point total as he ended the game with a 5 yard rushing touchdown.

Raritan 26 At Manasquan 14 – 1PM

Mason Sheehan was able to come away with the first score of the game to give Raritan a 7-0 lead in which they would not look back on. Paul Bavaro was able to scoop one and score on an 80 yard fumble recovery en route to a 26-14 victory at Warrior field. Marc Carnivale was also able to complete a pass to Derek Earnst who set up his own run in the process.

Toms River North 29 At Lacey 7 – 1PM

Mike Husni threw for two touchdown passes. Bryce Watts was able to punch in a first quarter TD as well as being on the other end of a 38 yard Husni TD pass. Kenny cook was on the other end of another TD pass from Husni that made the score 15-7. The Mariners also converted a 2 points conversion in route to a 22 point victory in Lacey against the Lions.

Mater Dei Prep 31 At Keansburg 0 – 1PM

Mater Dei Prep traveled to Keansburg where the Seraphs were able to consistently put up points throughout the game. If there was a common theme to this game, it would have to be the effect of turnovers on a teams chance to win. Juwan Mitchell was able to cash in on a 45 yard fumble return as well as Eddie Lewis contributing with an interception that was able to help Mater Dei score 31 unanswered points. He also had a huge punt return to compliment Kyle Devaney and his two touchdown passes on the day. Johnathan Lubintus and Andree Span also were able to rush for 71 yards and 62 yards respectively.

Brick Memorial 6 At Brick 36– 1PM

A game that was expected to be close ended up to be a reason why the Dragons can officially be placed in the Shore Conference top 10. Jas’ ir Taylor returned an Octavian Battle forced fumble along with an 80 yard TD run. The Dragons played stellar defense, holding Brick Memorial to just 165 total yards and 6 points.

Freehold Twp 14 At Freehold Boro 28 – 1PM

The battle of Freehold went in favor of the Boro in this one. This Saturday afternoon, Freehold Boro was able to coast to a 28-14 victory.  This was highlighted by Jake Curry’s three rushing touchdowns. He was also effective in the passing game. Curry was able to accumulate 141 yards in the air. This was just a little more than his 123 rushing yards. In addition, there was also a RB in this game, yes, Ashonti Worthy was able to run for 189 yards throughout the game. Both the Quarterback and the Running Back for Freehold Boro provided the Colonials with 264 yards of offense combined.

St John Vianney 30 At Matawan 21 – 2PM

Anthony Brown had an excellent day under center throwing for three touchdown passes. All together he totaled for 263 yards. Receiver Michael Stapert tallied 143 yards for four receptions as well as a 78 yard TD from Brown.  Matawan’s Jake Burlew threw for 110 yards along with 66 yards and a TD from running back Makiya Caesar.
