Yesterday’s week one action from around the Shore Conference left us with a slate of memorable moments. Meanwhile in Pennsylvania defense was not only optional – it was nonexistent in a 107-90 win for Meadville High School at DuBois.
The scoreboard could not handle the shootout, as the game shattered records from around the country – according to multiple reports including MaxPreps and the NFHS record book.
One record stood the test of time, as junior Journey Brown rushed for 720 yards and ten (yes, ten) touchdowns.
Somehow, those video game numbers put him at second all-time for rushing yards – topped only by Netcong’s John Giannantonio in 1950. The game was against Mountain Lakes.
Can anyone here in Jersey set new records in 2015? We will find out, after the DuBois scoreboard operators fix this –
