Corey Greer Transfers To Camden

Corey Greer Transfers To Camden

After lots of speculation, Freshman Sensation Corey Greer is leaving Middle Twp and the Cape-Atlantic-League. According to a source from 973 ESPN FM, Greer will officially transfer to MetEast Charter School.

MetEast students receive eligibility to play for Camden High School. Since Greer has transferred to a charter school, he will not have to sit the 30 day waiting period.

Greer started immediately for Middle Twp as a Freshman. He averaged 11.9 points per game, and ran the offense with ease. Greer is one of the best up and coming point guards in the State. He was selected as a First Team All-Star in Cape May County. Greer is a very talented guard with a strong skill set on both sides of the ball.

The young star will head to a program that finished with a 25-7 record in 2014. Camden won a South Jersey Group II Sectional title, and made it all the way to the Group Final. Fans are counting on another strong showing in 2015.

The team returns a talented core of players. Greer will join a backcourt that features Brad Hawkins. Hawkins averaged 16 points per game and is a natural leader on the floor. Forward/Center Jamal Holloway is a monster underneath the boards. Holloway is a force at 6-4 and 220lbs. The Panthers also have a lot of depth on the bench.

This puts Head Coach John Valore in a very good position. Greer and Hawkins have the potential to be  anexcellent duo in the backcourt. Greer, Hawkins, along with Holloway will make Camden one of the best scoring teams in the State.

Expect the Panthers to once again make a serious run in Group II. The team could definitely be a sleeper for a possible Tournament of Champions berth.
