Made the trip back to Montclair State University yesterday to visit the iconic Yogi Berra Stadium and take in some NJ Jackals baseball. The Jackals play in the Can-Am League, and have been a perennial force in the league for years.

Part of that success has to do with a loyal fan base, as well as great team management and veteran leadership. Among those veterans is starting pitcher Isaac Pavlik. As the franchise’s leader in career wins, Pavlik has served as a face to a team that- like many others in the league- goes through drastic overhauls each season.

The Seton Hall University graduate has been with the team since 2007. I caught up with him before his team’s fog-shortened game against the Ottawa Champions-

The Jackals will wrap up this series with the Champions later today and remain at home until Wednesday before traveling to nearby Sussex County to face the Miners.
